A Fort Bend County, Texas, family died in a fatal head-on collision late Tuesday, authorities confirmed.
The crash involved two vehicles on a rural stretch of road. Emergency responders arrived to find one car with multiple family members inside, all of whom were pronounced dead at the scene. The identities of the victims have not yet been released as officials work to notify relatives.
The second vehicle’s driver survived and was taken to a local hospital with serious but non-fatal injuries. Investigators said speed and road conditions are being examined as they reconstruct the circumstances that led to the collision.
Fort Bend County deputies closed the roadway during the early stages of the response, directing traffic around the scene while forensic teams processed evidence and photographed the site.
Local authorities urged drivers to use caution and observe speed limits on rural roads, especially at night. The Texas Department of Public Safety is assisting with the ongoing investigation, and more details are expected as the inquiry continues.
