Mayor Bill deBlasio has finally figured out a way to destroy New York City and no doubt he will try to blame it on President Trump after he said he planned to keep the city closed at least until July or August. You will have to cross a tunnel or a bridge into New Jersey to find a restaurant that is open. No doubt he will demand that the American taxpayer pony up to pay the price of such a long closure.
What be the result of such a plan? You will see tons of small businesses close as they fall months behind on their rents and other bills. Unemployment could reach 25% in the city. Buildings will sit empty and many will fall into disrepair as landlords will not be able to pay the upkeep on them. With no rent money coming in, many will default on their property.
The same will go for private home ownership. New Yorkers might be wise to avoid the rush and move away now. The high city and state taxes will make it even harder for a recovery coming no earlier than July.
New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio joined Bill Hemmer today on FOX News Channel.
The mayor told Hemmer he does not expect New York City to open until July or August.
March-April-May-June
There will be nothing left in the city in July.
This is a good time for New Yorkers to look for an exit.
Mayor de Blasio already announced schools will be closed for the rest of the year.
