On Wednesday, the Georgia Supreme Court reversed the ruling of a progressive Fulton County court and reinstated the state’s heartbeat law.

Abortions were generally illegal after the sixth week of pregnancy when a fetal heartbeat could be detected with high confidence.

In the wake of Roe v. Wade and Planned Parenthood v. Casey, Breitbart News reported that Fulton County Judge Robert C. I. McBurney invalidated Georgia’s abortion law.

After the Supreme Court decided to overturn Roe v. Wade and the Supreme Court of the United States’ decision to uphold Casey v. Hodges, McBurney wrote in an opinion that Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization was “simply a reinforcement of what ought to be for everyone the uncontroversial notion that, if the judicial branch has declared a constitutional right, legislatures exceed their authority, improperly expand their role, and fundamentally violate the

Nonetheless, McBurney’s conviction was quickly overturned by the state supreme court.

The Republican Party is in ruins after suffering a devastating electoral defeat in the Senate and only narrowly avoiding the same fate in the House. Politicians are often accused of putting their own financial and price interests before those of the public.

If the Democrats lose the upcoming election in Georgia, Vice President Kamala Harris will have to cast a tie-breaking vote in the Senate.

There was no danger of any pro-life Republicans losing their seats in the Georgia legislature, and Republican Governor Brian Kemp of Georgia won re-election easily. The race comes down to Senator Raphael Warnock (D-GA), an opponent of abortion rights, and Rep. Herschel Walker (R-AL), an opponent of the war.

The case of Sister Song, Women of Color Reproductive Justice Collective v. State of Georgia, has been appealed to the Georgia Supreme Court. Case number S23M0358 has been assigned to this document.
