The Senate Now Has 49 Trump Judicial Picks to Vote On

The Senate Judiciary Committee, just cleared 9 more judges for a floor vote, bringing the total up to 49. Many of these picks are for Appeals courts, who will have to ability to base their decisions based on the rule of law, rather than on their personal ideology.

President Trump has already had more judicial picks confirmed than any other president at this point in his term. Many people think that Hillary deserves her own term and I agree. I’m thinking 20 to life. The Senate plans on trying to approve all forty-nine before the end of the year.

    From The Washington Times

Sen. Dianne Feinstein, the ranking Democrat on the committee, countered that what the ABA saw was a lack of experience.

“The ABA had trouble finding enough in his record to make a thorough evaluation,” said Ms. Feinstein of California. “This should really be concerning to all of us.”

Two of the district judges approved Thursday were first picked by President Barack Obama, had their nominations expire but were renominated by President Trump. They were Stephanie A. Gallagher, picked for a seat in Maryland, and Mary S. McElroy, for a judgeship in Rhode Island.

Mr. Grassley has called for the Senate to stay in session and confirm all 49 pending judicial nominees before the lawmakers head home for the midterms.

“Work comes [before] campaigning,” the chairman tweeted.

It’s kind of funny that Dianne Feinstein would be worried about experience. She endorsed and voted for Elena Kagan, who was never a judge at any level before being named to the Supreme Court. By forcing a vote on these forty-nine judges, Republicans are daring them to obstruct them just before people vote.
