Joy Reid is suffering massive blow back not only from conservatives but from liberals also for her blatant Islamophobia. President Trump, Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib are all demanding that Reid apologize for her Islamophobia. Reid was previously only known to hate gay people, now she hates Muslims. I’ll bet she really hates gay Muslims.
Reid said:
“When leaders — let’s say in the Muslim world talk a lot of violent talk and encourage their supporters to be willing to commit violence including on their own bodies in order to win against whoever they decide is the enemy, we in the U.S. media describe that as they are radicalizing these people, particularly when they’re radicalizing young people. That’s how we talk about the way Muslims act.”
Omar said:
“Honestly, this kinda of casual Islamophobia is hurtful and dangerous. We deserve better and an apology for the painful moment for so many Muslims around our country should be forthcoming.”
Trump wrote:
“Like Fredo at Fake News @CNN, the very untalented Joy Reid should be fired for this horrible use of the words ‘Muslim Terrorists’. Such xenophobia and racism on MSDNC. Anyone else would be gone, and fast!!!”
Rashida Tlaib added:
“Words matter and these words feed into the harmful anti-Muslim rhetoric & actions that we continue to see in this country. It is even more painful to hear it from someone I admire. We deserve an apology.”
This is not Reid’s first rodeo. She also peddled the conspiracy theory that 9/11 was an inside job:
“The fundamental question is: do you believe the official story of 9/11?”
“If you do, great. If you don’t, then everything that happened after that is called into serious question. Even if you’re agnostic, or you tend to believe that al-Qaida attacked the World Trade Center and Pentagon and that the government had no warning such a thing could happen, it’s worth taking a second look.”
And yet, this clown just got a promotion to prime time. That should tell you just how bad a shape MSNBC is in.
