For a week now, Democrats have been trying to use the immigration issue to try to win November’s elections. But it seems to have backfired big time and will possibly create a red wave.
The CBS News 2018 Battleground Tracker Poll conducted by YouGov June 21-22 was taken in the middle of the separation battle, which makes it all the more ominous to the Democrats. For the first time, President Trump’s wall has a 51% approval rating among the voters. That’s an 11 point jump since March. Furthermore, a whopping 63% of Americans want illegal aliens detained or immediately deported. Only a measly 21% want to continue to catch and release.

If there is a lesson that Democratic leaders can learn from this sampling of the American voter, it clearly has not resonated with candidates. Just this week, New York gubernatorial candidate Cynthia Nixon called for the abolition ICE, saying that he group responsible for tracking down illegal aliens was acting like a “terrorist organization.” As Girdusky said, “This (poll) shows that Democrats are completely out of step with average Americans. Rather than learning from Hillary Clinton’s loss, they’ve doubled down on open borders, amnesty, and lawlessness and Americans don’t want it.”
This is very true, Democrats did not get the message in 2016 and that led to the defeat of Hillary Clinton. They also have learned nothing from multiple polls this year that shows the illegal and legal immigration is the most important issues to voters. I hope they continue to ignore the issue and also continue defending MS-13. I think that’s a real winner for them. And don’t forget to remind the voters every day how you are running on a platform to raise taxes.
