According to court documents, Tiger Woods forced his ex-girlfriend to sign a non-disclosure agreement or risk losing her job as his restaurant’s manager when they were together.
Erica Herman claims that the 15-time major champion locked her out of their shared home and subjected her to sexual harassment.
Herman, 38, claims in newly filed court documents in Florida that he engaged in sexual harassment by forcing her to sign the NDA while she was employed by him.
She was managing The Woods in Jupiter when she began dating the athlete in August of 2017.
Herman, now 38 years old, is attempting to terminate the agreement in a legal manner.
She spent five years in a committed relationship with Woods (now 47) and even moved in with him in South Florida.
According to Benjamin Hobas, Herman’s attorney, “Mr. Woods was Ms. Herman’s boss.”
“Sexual harassment occurs when a supervisor alters an employee’s duties because of the employee’s romantic or sexual relationship with the supervisor.”
Hobas also said that the way Woods dumped her was terrible.
According to him, Woods convinced Herman to leave his house last year on the pretense of a trip to the Bahamas. Woods’ attorneys met her at the airport and informed her that she had been barred from returning to his home or speaking with Woods without signing a new nondisclosure agreement.
The answer was negative, she said.
“Tiger Woods, famous athlete and one of the most influential individuals in sports worldwide, had an affair with a staff member. Hobas claims that the employer threatened the employee with termination unless she signed a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) regarding the incident.
And when he was sick of their sexual connection, he locked her out of her home, stole her money, her dogs, and her possessions, and tried to get her to sign a new non-disclosure agreement.
Herman filed a lawsuit against the Woods’ home trust in October, seeking $30,000,000 in damages. Even though they had previously agreed that she may stay in his house for another five years, the document claims that she was ultimately compelled to leave. The lawsuit did not, however, accuse Woods of any sexual misconduct.
The trust was sued by Herman in March after she claimed the NDA she signed was invalid. Woods asked to be included as a defendant in a lawsuit two days later when he mailed a complaint to Herman.
According to the media, this is all part of a larger strategy to have the matter resolved through private arbitration rather than in open court.
Woods’s representatives were not immediately available for comment.
