A truck driver accused of causing a fatal crash in Washington state has been released from custody after posting a $100,000 bond, according to court records and law enforcement officials.

Prosecutors allege the driver, who is in the country illegally, was operating a commercial vehicle involved in a collision that resulted in at least one death. Investigators say the crash occurred when the truck struck another vehicle, prompting a criminal case that includes charges tied to the fatality.

During a court hearing, a judge set bond conditions that allowed the driver’s release while the case proceeds. Authorities have not indicated that the driver poses an immediate threat to the public, though the case has drawn attention due to the immigration status involved and the severity of the incident.

The investigation remains ongoing as prosecutors prepare for future court proceedings. Officials continue to review evidence, including crash data and witness statements, while the victim’s family awaits further developments in the case.
