President Donald Trump hosted Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Florida for a high-level meeting focused on efforts to advance peace negotiations in the Russia-Ukraine war.

During the discussions, both leaders expressed optimistic views about moving toward a negotiated settlement, while also acknowledging that significant challenges remain before a formal peace agreement can be reached. The talks covered key topics such as security arrangements, diplomatic strategy, and avenues for reducing violence on the battlefield.

Trump emphasized the importance of continued cooperation between the United States and Ukraine, characterizing the meeting as a step forward in diplomatic engagement. Zelensky reinforced Ukraine’s commitment to ending the conflict and underscored the need for ongoing international support.

The summit brought together senior advisers from both sides to work through complex issues related to the war’s political and military dimensions. Officials described the exchanges as intensive and focused on identifying practical next steps in the negotiation process.

As part of the visit, Zelensky also met with other American policymakers and stakeholders to discuss broader areas of collaboration, including economic assistance and defense support. The Florida talks reflect sustained efforts by both governments to shape a path toward lasting peace while addressing immediate challenges facing Ukraine.

Leaders from both nations indicated that further discussions will be necessary as they seek to capitalize on the momentum generated by the Florida meeting and work toward durable solutions to end the long-running conflict.
