Former President Trump claimed on Tuesday that his New York judge is prejudiced against him because of the judge’s family connections to the Clinton family.
Trump blasted Loren Merchan, the daughter of New York’s acting Supreme Court Justice Juan Merchan, whose company has done work for the campaigns of prominent Democrats like Vice President Kamala Harris and Representative Adam Schiff, before his court appearance in Manhattan. (D-CA).
His daughter has worked on both the Kamala Harris and the Biden-Harris campaigns. It’s a Kangaroo Court!!! Trump made the statement in a message on Truth Social. He demanded that the case be transferred to Staten Island and claimed that the judge’s relatives are all “TRUMP HATERS.”
A Breitbart News article claiming that Loren Merchan is the daughter of Justice Juan Merchan and discussing her professional background was posted by Donald Trump Jr. The tale features a photo from the Geneseo Alumni Office’s Flickr account showing a happy Loren Merchan and her father.
“Makes sense… Another cog in this phony prosecution of a randomly selected Democrat. He said, “The BS goes on forever.
The Washington tweet’s fact checker, Glenn Kessler, deemed this and a similar tweet by Trump’s other son, Eric, to be false.
Both of Trump’s children have now shared photos of the judge’s adult daughter online, which the president described as “completely unrelated and meant to scare” in a tweet.
New York Post columnist Miranda Devine responded to Kessler.
This is the “fact checker” for the Washington Post, who is deliberately misleading the public. Neither Trump posted a photo of himself with the judge’s daughter. A report claiming that she had done work for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris was linked to on their site. The court also rewarded Biden monetarily. Facts that count, she emphasized.
Loren Merchan’s purported social media profiles no longer exist, but there is material available online about Merchan’s professional history. A digital marketing firm for political campaigns, she reportedly became CEO of Authentic Campaigns in 2020. Her name is dropped alongside that of a companion.
Campaigns & Elections journal recognized Merchan as a “Rising Star” in October 2020. The official Authentic Twitter handle was thrilled to announce this. The tweet referenced what appeared to be a defunct account using Merchan’s first name as the username.
A brief description of Merchan written by Campaigns & Elections that included a roster of her firm’s prominent clients remains online.
Loren has put in a lot of time and effort to advance in her career. It’s stated in the summary that her work is beneficial “not only for her clients, but also for the industry as a whole and the people who work in it.” “As a result of her innovative effort, she is able to successfully run for office.
The promotional blurb claims that “Authentic Campaigns is also setting new industry standards through its commitment to diversity,” and lists the company’s pay transparency, employee perks, and other initiatives as examples. “Loren is attempting to revolutionize the business world by developing innovative approaches to serving our customers and our staff.”
One of Authentic’s clients, according to the company’s website, is Vice President Joe Biden’s presidential campaign with Kamala Harris.
The Authentic website also features a 2018 article from Merchan, citing its original publication as an editorial piece in Campaigns & Elections. Merchan notes that the Republican Party invested more in internet networks than the Democratic Party in 2016.
What she found intriguing was that while many campaigns and advisers were fast to adopt 2016’s lessons on fundraising, many seemed to dismiss the year’s lessons on persuasion. About 75% of 2016’s election TV commercials were funded by Clinton or her allies, while Trump spent $8 million on digital advertising in July, while Clinton spent only $130,000.
The Daily Wire contacted Authentic to get their take on Trump’s Truth Social tweet.
To 34 counts of falsifying company documents in what Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg called a “catch-and-kill” scheme to influence the 2016 election, Trump entered a not guilty plea on Tuesday afternoon.
The attorneys expressed concern about Trump’s tweets and other social media posts during Tuesday’s hearing. It is reported that the judge did not directly command the former president to remain silent, but he did warn him against saying anything that could get him into legal problems.
Trump faces numerous investigations that could land him in legal hot water as he makes his third bid for the presidency. Trump claims he is the victim of a political “witch hunt” and that he has done nothing wrong.
