I said, ‘I think he’s got that one wrong. Isn’t that what you’re supposed to hit?’”
Trump emphasized the threat posed by nuclear proliferation, calling it the “biggest risk we have.” He recounted how, during his presidency, he rebuilt the U.S. military, including its nuclear capabilities, although he admitted he “hated to build the nuclear.”
The former president reiterated his stance, stating that Israel should prioritize hitting Iran’s nuclear sites to prevent future threats. Trump’s comments came after Iran launched a series of rockets towards Israel, escalating tensions in the region.
Biden, in contrast, called for a “measured” and “proportional” response from Israel, urging restraint in targeting Iran’s nuclear facilities. The G-7 leaders, according to Biden, agreed that while Israel has the right to defend itself, it should avoid an overly aggressive response.
Trump criticized this position, calling it the “craziest thing I’ve ever heard” and warning that failure to address Iran’s nuclear capabilities could lead to significant problems in the future.
