Former President Donald Trump recently shared an update on the health of his mother-in-law, Amalija Knavs, during a New Year’s gathering at his Palm Beach, Florida estate. In a video statement, Trump, aged 77, conveyed that he had just spoken with his wife, Melania, and mentioned that Knavs is currently receiving medical treatment in a Miami hospital.

Trump expressed his hope for Knavs’ recovery, acknowledging the severity of her condition without specifying the nature of her illness. He relayed Melania’s affection to those present, noting her familiarity with many attendees, and expressed a collective wish for Knavs’ swift recovery.

Melania Trump, 53, was notably absent from a Trump family Christmas photograph, sparking speculation. However, it was soon clarified by a source speaking to Page Six that she was tending to her 78-year-old mother.

A source close to Melania, speaking to Fox News Digital, emphasized her deep commitment to her family, stating that her decision to spend Christmas with her ailing mother should not come as a surprise.

Despite her recent absence from public events, reports suggest that Melania is preparing to increase her public presence in support of her husband’s re-election campaign. Insiders at Mar-a-Lago have indicated that there is an agreement for Melania to engage more actively in high-profile diplomatic appearances in 2024.

According to a source, Melania is ready to embrace her role among historic first ladies and make a significant impact, feeling more prepared for the potential responsibilities if her husband is re-elected. The Trump family, including Donald Trump Jr., Kimberly Guilfoyle, Barron Trump, Ivanka Trump, Jared Kushner, Tiffany Trump, and Michael Boulos, are reportedly unified in their support for Donald Trump’s bid for the presidency.

In recent months, Melania has maintained a presence at key events, including attending Rosalynn Carter’s funeral in late November and participating in a citizens’ naturalization ceremony at the National Archives in early December. Her increased involvement is anticipated as part of the forthcoming campaign season.
