During a recent event in Atkinson, New Hampshire, former President Donald Trump made a suggestion about possible future cooperation with former GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy. This happened soon after Ramaswamy publicly embraced Trump and halted his presidential campaign.
Trump highlighted Ramaswamy’s quick ascent from relative obscurity to a formidable competitor throughout the event, praising his efforts and path in the presidential contest. “He’s an amazing man. He started with a zippo and ended up being really strong, so he has something really unique. He did a fantastic job, “said Trump. When he continued, “He’s going to be working with us and he’ll be working with us for a long time,” the audience erupted in applause.
Biotech businessman Ramaswamy expressed similar comments to Trump on social media and alluded to a unified, America-First movement. It’s still unclear, though, if Trump’s comments alluded to Ramaswamy’s potential involvement in his presidential campaign or future administration.
When Jesse Watters of Fox News questioned Ramaswamy about running for vice president after the event, he said he would be willing to serve the nation in any way.
Ramaswamy endorsed Trump after the latter received a remarkable 51% of the vote in the Iowa caucuses, where he received only approximately 8% of the vote. Former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley came in third, while Florida Governor Ron DeSantis came in second. Since then, Ramaswamy has pleaded with them to drop out and back Trump in the forthcoming general election.
Even after his campaign ended, Ramaswamy had shown a strong dedication, hosting more campaign events than any other candidate in the state and traveling to every one of Iowa’s 99 counties at least twice. His support and possible future involvement with Trump’s campaign signal an intriguing shift in the dynamics of the 2024 presidential contest.
