Trump Launches Attacks On E. Jean Caroll: ‘Never Met Her Or Touched Her’

In recent developments, former President Donald Trump once again found himself embroiled in controversy as he vehemently denied the allegations made by E. Jean Carroll, a magazine writer who accused him of abuse and defamation. The ongoing court battle seemed destined for another round, with a New York jury having already found Trump guilty and awarded Carroll $5 million in damages.

Just hours after the jury’s verdict, Trump took to Twitter to launch a scathing attack on Carroll, questioning her credibility and denouncing her claims as “fake” and “made-up.” He further alleged that Carroll had made derogatory remarks about her own African American husband, referring to him as an “ape.” Trump asserted that he neither knew nor abused Carroll, dismissing her allegations as baseless.

Joseph Tacopina, Trump’s attorney, denied making any comment on the matter, prompting the former president to turn to Reddit to provide an explanation. However, District Judge Lewis Kaplan, who presided over the trial, had previously cautioned Trump about his use of social media throughout the lawsuit, recognizing it as a potential source of liability.

In a separate posting, Trump drew connections between the Carroll case and the investigations he faced during his presidency, accusing the Democrats of using it to smear his reputation, much like the now-debunked Russia investigation. He claimed that the Carroll case, funded and orchestrated by Democratic operatives, was being handled unfairly by a biased Clinton-appointed judge.

The saga took a peculiar turn as Carroll claimed to possess a dress that could potentially provide DNA evidence from the encounter, but Trump insisted that he could not locate it anywhere. His legal team vowed to appeal the verdict and the subsequent judgment, asserting that Trump would never receive a fair trial in New York.

Carroll wasted no time in pursuing further legal action, demanding an additional $10 million in damages from the former president in response to his comments made after the verdict. Her attorneys filed the necessary documents in federal court, adding Trump’s remarks during an interview and his Truth Social post criticizing the New York decision to the existing defamation complaint.

Trump’s tirade against Carroll during a televised town hall further escalated the situation. He disparaged her character, labeled her a “whack job,” and claimed that the judge had prevented his legal team from presenting evidence that Carroll had made derogatory remarks about her husband and owned a cat named “Vagina.” Trump reserved special criticism for Judge Kaplan, accusing him of bias and unfairness.

Amidst the controversy, Collins, a CNN journalist, questioned Trump about the impact these allegations might have on his political standing. Trump responded by dismissing the significance, asserting that his numbers had actually increased in popularity. He reiterated his denial of ever knowing Carroll and launched into a sarcastic recital of her claims, drawing laughter from the audience.

The ongoing legal battle between Trump and Carroll continues to captivate public attention. Trump’s appeal against the judgment and the potential for further defamation suits leave the outcome uncertain. As the case unfolds, the implications for both Trump’s reputation and Carroll’s pursuit of justice remain a matter of intense scrutiny and debate.
