While flying in the UK on Marine One, President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump had to make an emergency landing when the chopper experienced a small hydraulic issue.
On September 18, 2025, the event happened while the presidential helicopter was traveling from Chequers to Stansted Airport after the state visit was over.
As a precaution, the pilots landed at a neighboring airstrip after diverting due to the problem. After being securely moved to a backup helicopter, the Trumps eventually boarded Air Force One to make their way back to the United States.
White House officials said the issue was under control and stressed that no one was hurt. Although the departure was delayed due to the landing, President Trump and the First Lady were able to continue their journey without any further problems.
