Robert Mueller’s investigation is a bigger fishing expedition than anything you will see on “Dangerous Catch” and it needs to end. There are three people President Trump could fire.
He could fire Mueller, Sessions or Rosenstein. Of the three, Rosenstein would be the least politically damaging. It would also be effective depending on who replaces him. The Democrats will fight tooth and nail to prevent Trump from getting his nominee confirmed but he could make a recess appointment to fill that slot.
Hopefully, someone who will pull the reins on Mueller and make him stick to his original mandate, the Trump/Russia collusion hoax.
CNN is pushing the narrative that Trump will fire Mueller again. I’m not sure if this is the 10th or 11th time they have done that, in keeping with their reputation as the Fake news capital of the world. But that would be very much politically damaging and is an unlikely scenario.
If he fired Sessions at this time many in the Senate, including some Republicans, would react strongly to his firing. So, it has to be Rosenstein.
If Trump were to fire Rosenstein, his replacement would then be in charge of Mueller and could rein him in or he could do as Rosenstein is doing but I doubt it. He would let the collusion investigation continue but would not authorize raids that invade lawyer/client privilege.
At this point, almost anyone would be better than Rosenstein.
