Former President Donald Trump has strongly criticized former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi over her comments regarding his demeanor ahead of his arraignment in federal court. Trump took to his Truth Social website to address Pelosi’s remarks, calling her story about her husband “very weird” and accusing her of making vicious comments about him with glee.
In response to Pelosi’s statement that Trump looked like a “scared puppy” during his arrival at the D.C. courthouse for his arraignment on four charges related to alleged 2020 election interference, Trump defended himself, claiming that the millions of people watching on television did not see him as scared. He asserted that he was not scared and expressed his disapproval of Pelosi’s remarks, referring to her as a “Wicked Witch” and suggesting her husband’s journey was connected to her.
Paul Pelosi, Nancy Pelosi’s husband, was allegedly involved in a home invasion in San Francisco, where he was attacked by an individual named David DePape with a hammer. DePape faces state charges of attempted murder and elder abuse, as well as federal charges for kidnapping in connection with the incident.
Pelosi’s husband had previously made headlines for causing a crash while driving drunk in May 2022, resulting in his arrest. He later pleaded guilty and received a sentence of five days in jail and three years of probation.
The alleged attack on Paul Pelosi led to various right-wing conspiracy theories, which subsided once video and audio evidence from the incident were released by the court in February.
When contacted by Fox News Digital, Pelosi’s office chose not to respond to Trump’s comments.
