President Donald Trump addressed concerns about his noticeably hoarse voice during recent public appearances, explaining that the strain came from an intense and prolonged confrontation with a foreign government over trade terms.
Speaking to reporters, Trump said the dispute escalated when the opposing country attempted to alter key parts of an already-negotiated agreement. According to the president, the move prompted him to raise his voice repeatedly in a forceful effort to push back and protect what he called a “fair deal” for the United States.
Trump described the exchange as a “heated discussion” that lasted long enough to leave his throat irritated. “I blew my stack,” he said, emphasizing that his frustration stemmed from what he viewed as an attempt to take advantage of American leverage.
Despite his strained voice, the president reassured the press that he is in strong health and not battling any illness. He insisted the hoarseness is temporary and directly tied to the intensity of negotiations, adding that forceful leadership sometimes requires forceful communication.
Trump also suggested the clash ultimately strengthened the U.S. position in the deal, saying he was confident the final terms would reflect what he called a tougher, more assertive stance from his administration.
