Former President Donald Trump warned that Joe Biden, whom he described as “cognitively impaired,” could lead the U.S. into a catastrophic war, seemingly referring to World War Three in a speech at the Pray Vote Stand summit in Washington. He mistakenly mentioned “World War Two,” which ended in 1945, before correcting himself.
Trump criticized Biden, calling him “totally corrupt” and the “worst president in the history of our country.” He expressed concerns about Biden’s ability to handle international relations, particularly with Russia, and suggested that relying on him could lead to a devastating conflict.
During his speech, Trump also appeared to suggest that he was leading in the 2024 polls, although he quickly corrected himself.
In a recent interview with Megyn Kelly, Trump argued that age was not the issue with Biden’s leadership but rather his competence. He emphasized that some leaders have been effective in their 80s and pointed out that Biden’s competence was the primary concern.
Trump’s comments came as he and other 2024 Republican hopefuls participated in gatherings in Washington to court evangelical Republicans, a crucial voting block in the upcoming presidential election. A Fox News poll showed Trump leading among potential Republican candidates, with 60% support, while his closest rival, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, had 13% support.
The 2024 presidential election is expected to be highly competitive, and Trump’s early lead among Republicans indicates his strong influence within the party.
