During a recent Fox News town hall, a surprising exchange took place as former President Trump urged host Sean Hannity to cease making jokes about Vice President Joe Biden’s intelligence.
Hannity had previously made remarks questioning Biden’s mental capacity, stating, “I’ve repeatedly raised the issue of whether he has the mental and physical capacity to handle the job. It seems like you’ve been avoiding that topic altogether. Doesn’t it strike you, or is it just me, that this person has completely lost his mental faculties? He might not even be aware of what day it is anymore. In my opinion, the situation has become dire for him. So why are you so hesitant to acknowledge it?”
In response, Trump shared, “Well, I’m not sure if I should disclose this, but I reached out to Sean personally and implored him to refrain from making jokes about it.”
When questioned about his previous comments, Hannity replied, “I was merely joking.”
Trump elaborated on his conversation with Hannity, saying, “Because he used to laugh about it. I told him, ‘Listen, this isn’t something to take lightly, and I don’t believe it reflects positively on you or anyone else to do so.'”
“I simply don’t find it helpful for anyone, and it’s not appropriate,” Trump emphasized. “It’s a valid topic for discussion, but I don’t think it’s amusing to make light of such a serious situation. You haven’t done so since then, have you?”
In response, Hannity acknowledged, “Now I understand the gravity of the matter.”
