President Donald Trump delivered a sharp message to Minnesota, saying a “day of reckoning and retribution” is approaching as state and city leaders move forward with a lawsuit challenging a large scale federal immigration enforcement surge.
Minnesota, along with Minneapolis and St. Paul, has filed legal action against the Trump administration over the deployment of thousands of Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Customs and Border Protection agents across the Twin Cities area. The lawsuit argues that the federal operation violates constitutional limits and seeks to block or restrict the continued presence of those agents.
The legal fight has unfolded amid widespread protests following the fatal shooting of Renee Nicole Good during an ICE operation, which intensified public anger and political pressure on both state and federal leaders.
Trump has defended the enforcement effort, saying it is aimed at removing dangerous individuals and enforcing immigration law. His warning underscores the growing clash between the White House and Minnesota officials over immigration policy, federal authority, and the ongoing presence of agents in the state.
