Trump Warns of ‘Massive Bloodshed’ if Hamas Rejects Peace Deal

President Donald Trump issued a stark warning this week, cautioning that failure by Hamas to accept his proposed peace deal could lead to what he described as “massive bloodshed” in Gaza. Speaking from the White House, Trump emphasized the urgency of reaching a settlement, saying that both sides must “move fast” to prevent further violence and civilian suffering in the war-torn region.

The former president outlined his 20-point peace framework as part of a renewed effort to end the long-running conflict between Israel and Hamas. The proposal calls for a cease-fire, the release of hostages, and a phased plan to demilitarize Gaza while introducing an internationally monitored reconstruction initiative. Trump underscored that the deal presents a rare opportunity to achieve lasting peace and stability in the Middle East, warning that hesitation could cost thousands of lives.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has reportedly expressed support for the plan, noting that it aligns with Israel’s security priorities while offering a path toward regional stability. However, Trump stressed that peace will depend on Hamas’ willingness to engage in good-faith negotiations and meet core demands, including renouncing violence and dismantling its military infrastructure.

Officials close to the talks revealed that Hamas leaders have yet to formally accept the terms, and internal divisions within the group could complicate the decision. The U.S. administration continues to work through diplomatic channels with Egypt and Qatar, which have played key mediating roles in previous cease-fire efforts.

Trump reiterated that the window for peace is narrowing, framing the deal as a defining moment for the region. “There’s a real chance for greatness,” he said. “But if Hamas doesn’t move fast, the alternative will be bloodshed on a scale the world does not want to see.”

The proposed agreement marks one of the most ambitious diplomatic efforts in recent years, aiming not only to end immediate hostilities but also to lay the foundation for a new governance model in Gaza. While optimism remains cautious, Trump’s remarks highlight the high stakes of the ongoing negotiations—and the potentially catastrophic consequences if they fail.
