Trump’s Legal Eagles Negotiating To End The Russia Probe

President Donald Trump’s lawyers are trying to make a deal with Mueller for the president to be interviewed by Mueller.

The condition they have added is that Mueller would then end his investigation into Russia/Trump collusion. For smart lawyers, they are pretty stupid.

Do they really believe Mueller gives a rat’s patoot about Russian collusion.

He is there to try to destroy Trump and he has already gone far astray in his probe and you can bet your last dollar he will widen it until he finds that Trump burned ants with a magnifying glass when he was eight or that he taped an NFL game without the written consent of the TV station and the NFL.

Rebecca Ballhaus and Peter Nicholas of the Wall Street Journal report:

President Donald Trump’s lawyers are seeking to negotiate a deal with special counsel Robert Mueller that uses an interview with the president as leverage to spur a conclusion to the Russia investigation, according to a person familiar with the discussions.

The president’s legal team is considering telling Mr. Mueller that Mr. Trump would agree to a sit-down interview based on multiple considerations, including that the special counsel commits to a date for concluding at least the Trump-related portion of the investigation. One idea is to suggest a deadline of 60 days from the date of the interview, the person said.

Another consideration for the legal team is reaching an agreement with Mr. Mueller on the scope of his questioning of the president, which they expect to focus largely on his decision to fire former national security adviser Mike Flynn and former FBI director James Comey, according to people familiar with the matter.

There have been many people calling for the end of the investigation after so much time and money has been spent to uncover exactly nothing. Even Adam Schiff reluctantly acknowledged that no evidence of collusion exists.

So far, all of the charges brought by Mueller have been totally unrelated to collusion.

The charges against Manafort are all over 10 years ago, long before he joined the Trump campaign.
