President Trump has unveiled the redesigned White House Rose Garden, now rebranded as the “Rose Garden Club.” The traditional lawn has been replaced with pale limestone paving, shaded seating areas, and striped umbrellas that evoke the atmosphere of his Mar-a-Lago resort.
The launch was marked by a dinner for Republican lawmakers and staff, whom Trump introduced as the “first members” of the new club. A separate inaugural event with tech executives—Bill Gates, Tim Cook, Mark Zuckerberg, and Sam Altman—was forced indoors due to rain.
Trump defended the renovation, explaining that the old grass made the space difficult to use, especially for women wearing heels. He highlighted the new stonework, upgraded sound system, and enhanced functionality for press conferences and official events.
The Rose Garden refresh is part of a broader White House update that includes gilded interior décor and plans for a privately funded grand ballroom adjoining the East Wing.
