President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump have arrived in the U.K. for a state visit, where they were greeted by King Charles III at Windsor Castle in a ceremony full of pageantry and tradition.

They were formally welcomed by Prince William and Princess Kate, who led them into a carriage procession on the grounds of Windsor Castle. The event featured a grand military salute, including an honor guard and ceremonial dress uniforms, highlighting the diplomatic and symbolic importance of the trip.

Melania Trump drew attention for her choice of attire—a bold yellow Carolina Herrera gown—while President Trump praised the enduring bond between the United States and the United Kingdom, calling the state banquet one of the greatest honors of his life. The formal dinner, held in St. George’s Hall, brought together members of the royal family, U.K. dignitaries, and U.S. officials for speeches emphasizing shared values, cultural history, and unity amid global challenges.

The visit, from September 17 to 19, 2025, marks an unprecedented second state visit by a sitting U.S. president during one term, underscoring the strength of the “special relationship” between the two countries. Key conversations are expected to focus on trade, technology investment, as well as foreign policy issues including Ukraine and Israel.

Despite the opulence, the visit is not without controversy. Protests have already been planned in London, and questions over public opinion and political optics have surfaced amid President Trump’s presence in Britain. The trip continues with further royal engagements, public appearances, and diplomatic meetings.
