Authorities in Portland confirmed the arrest of two individuals following clashes outside the local U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) field office. According to police, the confrontation took place on Saturday afternoon when federal officers detained a woman after she crossed a clearly marked restriction line on the property grounds.
Video footage shared publicly showed an officer ordering the crowd to remain behind a blue perimeter line while a female protester wearing a keffiyeh stepped across it, prompting several agents to converge and lead her into handcuffs. Pepper spray was reportedly deployed during the incident.
Protests at the facility have become frequent in recent weeks, with demonstrators voicing strong opposition to deportation policies. The Portland Police Bureau stated that its officers are continuing to monitor the area for unlawful activity each night and that further charges are possible pending investigation.
