The U.S. military has carried out a lethal strike on a suspected drug-smuggling boat in the Eastern Pacific Ocean, marking the eighth such operation in the campaign, according to Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.
The vessel was identified by U.S. intelligence as operating under a designated terrorist organization, transiting a known narcotics route and carrying illicit cargo. Two alleged “narco-terrorists” aboard the boat were killed, and no U.S. personnel were harmed. The operation took place in international waters.
This latest action expands the previously Caribbean-focused campaign into the Pacific region and represents a significant shift in the scope of U.S. counter-narcotics efforts.
