U.S. military forces engaged and struck a vessel believed to be tied to a narco-terror organization in an operation at sea, resulting in the deaths of two people on board.

The strike occurred after intelligence indicated that the vessel was involved in illicit trafficking activities and had connections to a group designated for its terrorism-linked narcotics operations. U.S. commanders authorized the action in coordination with broader efforts to disrupt organized crime networks that threaten regional stability and security.

Following the engagement, search teams recovered one survivor, who was taken into custody and is being questioned by authorities to gather further intelligence on the group’s activities and links to other smuggling operations.

Officials said the mission was part of an ongoing campaign to target transnational criminal organizations that combine drug trafficking with violent extremist tactics. The operation reflects continued U.S. commitment to interdicting maritime threats and dismantling networks that finance and sustain terrorism through illegal trade.

Further details about the identity of the individuals killed or the precise affiliation of the vessel are being evaluated as investigations continue. The incident underscores the intersection of narcotics trafficking and terrorism concerns in international security operations.
