Counterterrorism expert Aaron Cohen has issued a warning to the Israeli military, emphasizing the importance of working quickly to retrieve hostages before the situation escalates beyond control. He highlighted that delaying hostage rescues in Gaza allows terrorists to move hostages, making it more challenging for Israeli intelligence agencies to locate them. As time passes, the hostages may become sick and tired, complicating rescue efforts.
Cohen praised Israel’s expertise in hostage rescue operations, noting their historical success, including the famous 1976 Entebbe raid. He expressed confidence that Israel would employ its strengths, such as selective operations, disguise, surprise, audacity, and tenacity, to rescue hostages effectively. Cohen also likened Israeli assets to elite U.S. special operations units like Delta Force and DEVGRU (SEAL Team Six).
Israel is currently facing a complex security situation, with ongoing conflicts and the need to rescue hostages in multiple locations. Cohen emphasized the urgency of the situation and Israel’s ability to handle such operations effectively.
