Republicans in Utah Considering a Resolution Calling For Mitt Romney to either support the Trump agenda or resign from office. The resolution will be discussed on February 29th in a meeting of the  Republican Party state central committee. The GOP in Utah are fuming over Romney’s vote to remove President Trump from office against the voter’s wishes.

The resolution was touted by Utah GOP State Central Committee member Brandon Beckham on his social media account.

The motion includes a statement disapproving of Romney’s vote on impeachment. Beckham said Romney’s vote was an embarrassment to the entire state GOP. Utah Gov. Gary Herbert, another weak kneed RINO does not approve of either censure or the current resolution.

    From The Blaze

Romney met with party leaders but would not comment to reporters about what they said. He did recognize that he would be facing criticism over his vote.

“No question the consequence will be enormous,” Romney said. “The consequence of violating my conscience and my oath of office to God would be even greater.”

Utah Gov. Gary Herbert, also a Republican, said he did not support a censure vote against Romney.

“I think that would be just a mistake to go down that road,” said Herbert.

Immediately after Romney’s vote, some on social media called for him to be recalled, but Utah has no recall provision to force their senators to step down.

The president on Monday mocked Romney in a meeting with state governors, saying, “How’s that Mitt Romney? You keep him, we don’t want him!”
