Newly released video from Minneapolis shows Renee Nicole Good’s SUV parked across a residential street moments before she was shot and killed by a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent during a federal operation.
The footage shows her vehicle positioned in a way that partially blocked traffic as other cars moved around it before federal agents approached on foot. The recording ends just before the shooting occurred.
Federal officials said Good had been following and interfering with the law enforcement operation earlier in the day and claimed the agent who fired believed her vehicle posed a threat. Local officials and members of the community have disputed that account, saying the video does not clearly show her attempting to strike or endanger any officer.
Good, a 37 year old Minneapolis resident, was killed during a large scale immigration enforcement action that has since sparked widespread protests and calls for an independent investigation into how the encounter unfolded.
