On April 8, 2025, a horrific shooting occurred in Spotsylvania County, Virginia, leaving three people dead and three injured. It is thought that an illegal gun transaction that evolved into a robbery was the cause of the event, which happened at a townhouse development close to Fredericksburg at around 5:30 p.m.
In addition to a 20-year-old male whose identity is still undergoing official confirmation, the deceased have been confirmed as 18-year-olds Chase Feaster and Alonzo Goffney.
Four teens have been charged by authorities in relation to the shooting: Jeremiah Upson, 18, two 16-year-olds, and a 17-year-old. After being released from the hospital, one of the 16-year-olds who was shot will be placed under arrest. Malicious wounding, unlawful assembly, and using a firearm in the commission of a felony are among the charges.
One of the armed suspects was wounded when a neighbor intervened during the confrontation by shooting at him. No charges will be brought against the neighbor, according to the Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office, because his efforts probably stopped further damage.
Spotsylvania County Public Schools responded to the tragedy by instituting a two-hour delay in order to support the personnel and children who were impacted. At nearby high schools, additional security measures were also implemented.
Authorities are asking anyone with knowledge or pertinent camera evidence to come forward and help with the investigation, which is still ongoing.
