In a January interview with Boston Public Radio, Warren made some remarks.
It has been claimed that Vice President Kamala Harris will not return a call from Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-Massachusetts). This is because Warren did not fully back Joe Biden’s choice of Harris as his running partner in 2024.
CNN reports that Warren has tried calling the vice president twice to apologize for her comments but has not reached her.
The Massachusetts senator appeared to hedge on backing Harris as Biden’s running partner in 2024 during an interview with Boston Public Radio in January. Warren was asked by the radio presenter if she felt Harris would be a good running mate for Joe Biden in 2024.
I’d like to give Biden the freedom to do whatever makes him most comfortable with his staff, she explained. “Having known Kamala for quite some time now is a given. Kamala has my favor. When she was attorney general, I was still an educator and we became friends. Due to our joint efforts throughout the housing crisis, we’ve known each other for quite some time. Of course, this requires cooperation, and I believe they have that. But it doesn’t mean I don’t see issues. I guess that they do.”
In a follow-up to the interview, Warren sent a statement to GBH News in which she expressed her support for a Biden-Harris ticket.
In an interview with GBH News, Warren said, “I wholeheartedly support the reelection of both the president and vice president, and I never meant to indicate differently.” They have a long history of assisting middle-class families, and as a group, they are an excellent resource.
Following CNN’s reporting, Warren contacted Lorraine Voles, Harris’ chief of staff. Warren got a call from the voles.
“But, the Warren incident has enraged many members of Harris’ inner circle. They feel the vice president has never been given the respect or support she deserves, and this is just the latest snub in a long series. Others argue that Warren’s criticisms sting harder since they come from a former opponent who sought to unseat Biden as his running mate in 2020 “The CNN team of Edward-Isaac Dovere and Jasmine Wright covered the story.
There is concern among some Democratic leaders that the criticism of the vice president would “become a political crisis.”
Those that say nasty things about Hillary are merely trying to make themselves appear better, Democratic Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker said CNN.
According to the news outlet, another Democratic Party chair said Harris “looks to be an albatross.”
“Ultimately, she will either assist us or harm us. And because she won’t be leaving anytime soon, you may as well make yourself at home with her “words, or said.
Before her likely 2024 announcement, Democrats have been voicing concerns about Harris’ “basic political abilities” in recent weeks.
According to Democratic fundraiser John Morgan, who spoke to the New York Times in February, Harris’s lack of qualifications to be vice president will be “one of the most potent arguments against Biden.”
I can’t think of anything she’s done but stand by him at ceremonies and keep out of the way, he added.
