After a witness reported seeing two ladies steal from a store, police were able to apprehend 21-year-old Mitarius Boyd.
After the women left the store without paying for the merchandise, Boyd allegedly followed them to their car and interrogated them there.
Boyd said that one of the ladies sprayed him with mace from a can, prompting him to draw his weapon.
According to the Nashville Police Department, Boyd contacted 911 reporting that he saw the women get into a car and that he suspected one of them had a gun.
Ferguson was abandoned at the hospital by the woman who accompanied her. Multiple rounds were fired at Ferguson, according to the police.
“Boyd worked with detectives,” the paper proclaimed. The police confiscated his weapon and cell phone. The District Attorney’s Office will decide whether or not Boyd will be charged once the police have gathered sufficient evidence.
