Kenneth Starr, the Clinton White House special prosecutor, believes that Donald Trump will be placed under oath when he’s eventually questioned for the Russia investigation.
“Yes or no answer, if this is possible, do you see the president being placed under oath before this is over?” MSNBC’s Brian Williams asked during an interview Thursday night.
To which Starr answered “Yes”.
Ken Starr was the man behind the Bill Clinton proceedings wherein he lied, under oath, about his relationship with Monica Lewinsky.
During his deposition for the Paula Jones lawsuit, Clinton denied his sexual relationship and during that time, based on the evidence provided by Lewinsky, Starr concluded that the President had given false and perjurious testimony.
Clinton was asked, “Have you ever had sexual relations with Monica Lewinsky, as that term is defined in Deposition Exhibit 1, as modified by the Court?” but based on a broad definition. The judge gave Clinton the chance to “review” the agreed definition of specifically what Starr was asking. Essentially… Clinton claims that he believed the given definition didn’t cover oral sex.
Starr’s investigation led to Bill Clinton being impeached, though the President was acquitted in a subsequent trial before the United States Senate as all 45 Democrats and 10 Republicans voted to acquit.
I’m quite curious to see what side Starr will take if it takes a side at all. How do you feel about what Ken Starr as said here?
As reported by The Daily Caller:
Starr’s investigation led to Clinton’s impeachment.
Starr offered other analysis of Mueller’s investigation. He said that he does not believe that the investigation is far along but that “there will be a number of indictments before this is over.”
He pointed to Mueller’s recent focus on former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort. Mueller oversaw a no-knock raid on Manafort’s Virginia residence in late July and has reportedly notified Manafort’s lawyers to expect an indictment.
