White House Targets Walz After Glitchy ICE Speech

The White House sharply criticized Minnesota Governor Tim Walz after a prime time address in which he urged residents to keep filming federal immigration agents during enforcement operations.

Walz’s televised speech was disrupted by technical problems that made parts of his message difficult to hear, drawing widespread attention and mockery online. Despite the glitches, he used the address to condemn federal immigration actions in Minnesota and encouraged people to record encounters with ICE officers.

White House officials responded by publicly ridiculing the governor’s appearance and message, with some calling on him to step down. The exchange added to growing political tension between the Biden administration and Minnesota leaders over the federal immigration surge in the state.

The clash comes as Minnesota remains at the center of a national debate over ICE operations following recent protests and a controversial enforcement action that sparked widespread backlash.
