In a chilling new development in the Gilgo Beach serial killings investigation, construction crews at Jones Beach uncovered a cache of items buried two feet beneath the sand near the East Bathhouse—an area where suspect Rex Heuermann once worked in the early 1980s.
The discovery includes women’s and girls’ clothing from the late 1980s and 1990s—such as mini-skirts, tops, and pants—alongside purses, a blood-stained glove, and a leather strap stashed in a decaying shack used by beach staff.
Jones Beach sits just three miles from Gilgo Beach—where multiple bodies were discovered along Ocean Parkway. Authorities have launched forensic testing on the items, examining whether they could be linked to Heuermann or additional unidentified victims. This comes as the broader case moves forward, with advanced DNA evidence recently approved for use in the upcoming trial.
