In a surprising development, professional wrestler Gionna Daddio, better known to fans as Liv Morgan of WWE fame, found herself in legal trouble following a recent incident in Florida. On a Thursday evening, law enforcement officers in Sumter County apprehended Daddio after erratic driving behavior prompted a routine traffic stop, as local media reports.
During the stop, which occurred in the vicinity of The Villages, a community northwest of Orlando, authorities detected the distinct scent of marijuana emanating from Daddio’s vehicle. A subsequent search by the officers led to the discovery of a small bag containing marijuana and a vaping device with an oil that was later confirmed to contain the substance as well.
The WWE star was taken into custody at the Sumter County detention facility, where she was processed and released shortly thereafter, spending less than three hours behind bars before posting a $3,000 bond.
Daddio now faces a pair of charges: possession of marijuana, which is considered a first-degree misdemeanor carrying up to a year in jail and a $1,000 fine; and possession of a synthetic cannabinoid, a more severe third-degree felony, as indicated by jail records. The latter is also a violation of WWE’s stringent Substance and Drug Testing policy.
This incident unfolds in the wake of Daddio’s glamorous appearance at the Los Angeles premiere of “The Iron Claw,” a film featuring Zac Efron, held at the DGA Theater Complex earlier in December.
Liv Morgan, a prominent figure in the wrestling ring, claimed the WWE Women’s Championship once and the WWE Tag Team Championship twice since being signed to WWE in 2014. Her ascent to the main roster came in 2017. Despite her professional success, Daddio has been out of action due to a shoulder injury for the past six months, with industry sources offering no clear schedule for her anticipated return to the ring.
Daddio’s last televised WWE appearance took place in a July episode of “Monday Night Raw,” during which she and her partner were defeated in a tag team championship bout. The wrestling community awaits further details on how this recent event may impact her career trajectory.
