Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that a peace agreement with Russia is within reach, but acknowledged that significant territorial issues remain unresolved following high-level discussions with President Donald Trump.

In remarks after their meeting, Zelensky described recent talks as productive and said both sides are working toward narrowing differences. He emphasized that progress has been made on diplomatic engagement, yet disagreements over territory and security arrangements continue to pose major hurdles.

Zelensky reiterated Ukraine’s commitment to finding a negotiated resolution to the conflict, saying that converging on a framework that satisfies both parties’ core concerns will be essential for lasting peace. He noted that the ongoing dialogue demonstrates a shared interest in reducing violence and advancing talks, even as detailed terms are still being debated.

Trump also commented on the discussions, underlining the importance of sustained negotiation and cooperation between the United States and Ukraine as international partners seek to support Kyiv’s diplomatic efforts.

Officials from both countries indicated that future meetings and consultations are planned as part of continued work to address unresolved issues, particularly those tied to territorial control and enforcement mechanisms.

The leaders’ statements reflect the complex nature of the conflict and the challenges inherent in reaching a comprehensive peace settlement. While optimism about potential breakthroughs was expressed, both sides made clear that further negotiation will be required before a final agreement can be secured.
