Recently, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) sounded the call for both Texas Governor Greg Abbott (R) and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) to use their new illegal immigrant relocation programs to target a group of three new liberal areas in the wake of DeSantis’ recent choice to send a batch of illegal migrants out to Martha’s Vineyard this past week taking national news by storm.
Cruz called on the pair of governors to send their illegal aliens out to Nantucket, Massachusetts; Palo Alto, California; and Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.

As of last year, Cruz put out the Stop the SURGE Act in an effort to force Democrat President Joe Biden to officially set up a group of 13 new ports of entry in areas all over the country and to issue a mandate that all illegal migrants encountered at Border Patrol Sectors in Texas be sent over to these newly created ports for their processing.
The 13 new ports of entry expressed by Cruz would be set up in more liberal areas such as Block Island, Rhode Island; Greenwich, Connecticut; Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts; Cambridge, Massachusetts; Governors Island, New York; Rehoboth Beach, Delaware; Nantucket, Massachusetts; Newport, Rhode Island; Scarsdale, New York; Palo Alto, California; Yountville, California; St. Helena, California; and North Hero, Vermont.
“I am introducing this crucial legislation to alleviate the massive overload at the southern border by establishing new ports of entry in Democrat-led communities such as North Hero, Vermont, where Bernie Sanders spends his summers, and Martha’s Vineyard, where Democrat elites host their cocktail parties,” explained Cruz at that time. “If Washington Democrats had to endure even a fraction of the suffering South Texas families, farmers, ranchers, and small businesses have had to face, our nation’s immigration laws would be enforced, the wall would be built, and the Remain in Mexico policy would be re-implemented.”
“My Democrat colleagues have hosted hearing after hearing on amnesty and federalizing elections while completely ignoring the crisis at our southern border,” continued Cruz. “From my time this year on the ground in Laredo and Del Rio, it is abundantly clear that President Biden has all but abandoned our border patrol agents and processing facilities, and left Texas communities to fend for themselves. President Biden and Democrats need to step up to defend our southern border and support our heroic Customs and Border Protection officials.”
Cruz expressed this past week as part of an interview hosted on Fox News that DeSantis sending those 50 migrants to Martha’s Vineyard highlighted the fact that the political Left is made up of “screaming hypocrites.”
“You know, the Democrats did not think it was a humanitarian crisis when we pulled over 50 bodies in body bags out of a truck in Texas of illegal immigrants who died because the smugglers let them die of heat exposure,” exclaimed Cruz. “And yet, suddenly 50 illegal immigrants show up in lily white Martha’s Vineyard, where rich liberals and billionaires sip Chardonnay, and it is, it is World War II.”
