Over a week after Elon Musk’s takeover, Twitter descended into pandemonium.
His blue check confirmation fee of $8 will be postponed. The initial price tag of $20 has been reduced to $8. So. Further, he deleted Kathy Griffin’s spoof account from Twitter for impersonating him.
When accounts were suspended for impersonating under Twitter’s prior administration, Goldberg conveniently forgot that Twitter’s policy on impersonation had stayed the same.
Griffin also did not use a false account to pretend to be Musk. She used her account, complete with blue check verification, to masquerade as Musk as part of a Democratic Party scam.
Griffin used Elon Musk’s identity and profile image to advocate for the “Vote Blue” movement in the 2018 midterm elections.
In response to Griffin’s suspension, Musk said, “All Twitter accounts participating in impersonation without clearly proclaiming ‘parody’ will be permanently suspended in the future.”
Goldberg has joined the ranks of celebrities on the left who have expressed outrage over Musk’s takeover of Twitter.
Gigi Hadid, a model, said on Saturday that she was leaving Twitter because the platform had descended into “a cesspool of prejudice and hatred.”
Celebrities on the political left who disapprove of Musk’s purchase of the company, including Mark Ruffalo, Debra Messing, Shonda Rhimes, Tea Leoni & Alex Winter, have all announced their intention to leave Twitter.
