To mobilize voters the night before the election, Vega was joined by Republican officials, including Attorney General Jason Miyares (R), Lieutenant Governor Winsome Earle-Sears (R), and Governor Glenn Youngkin (R) at a massive gathering in Triangle, Virginia (only minutes from Quantico).
One of the country’s most anticipated and costly House elections is Vega’s contest against Rep. Abigail Spanberger (D-VA) in Virginia’s Seventh District.
Vega has made much of the fact that her parents came to the United States from El Salvador to pursue the American dream. Previously, she worked as a police officer and later as a supervisor in Prince William County, Virginia.
My family and I escaped the Civil War in El Salvador, where my parents were killed. They were humble immigrants who arrived in the United States with little more than the clothing on their backs. “The American Dream has come true for my parents,” she proudly said. I’m working to preserve the American Dream for my kids, their kids, and your kids because of my parents. And I tell them, “Look at my face and read my tale,” regardless of what the other side says about America being racist and America being tyrannical. Remember it for the rest of your life.
The American spirit can’t be extinguished. How to respond to the question, “Why are you running for Congress?” But, men. She addressed the crowd, “We live in the greatest country in the planet’s history.” You watched me bring my family up here with me. I feel honored to be the offspring of refugees.
She said, “I get worked up every time I see Old Glory because that flag signifies freedom; that banner represents liberty, unrivaled, unsurpassed.
However, the beliefs of Democrats can’t be reconciled with what we hold dear as a nation.
Let me get this straight: “We need to reclaim our nation. The nation must be reclaimed. She cried, “It’s crazy that we’re even discussing putting parents in jail for defending their children.” What were the odds of us having that discussion? That, however, is how radical and extremist the modern Democrat Party has become.
“Thanks to God, my husband and I are the proud parents of two wonderful kids. They are my children, my children!” she proclaimed emphatically. And we certainly don’t, and never will act as a foster family for the federal government.
She went on to say that it was crazy that you had to be 18 to use a tanning bed, yet transgender kids as young as 12 or 13 weren’t seen as adults when it came to body mutilation.
Until Spanberger’s victory in the 2018 midterm elections, Vega’s seat had been held by the Republican party for many years. Before Spanberger, the center was held by former House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA) from 2001 until 2014, when he was defeated in a Tea Party-inspired primary by conservative opponent Dave Brat.
Democrats, Vega claims, have “forgotten what’s important: that we running for office are public servants and that you guys are the bosses and you’re in control.”
She said that people had had enough of the government telling them how to spend their money and raise their children. “The government is meddling in our lives at an unprecedented level.”
When they shut down our churches, they left the booze stores open. Do you remember that? What they did to our kids, do you remember? She asked. Results have been returned, and they talk of learning loss and emotional and mental trauma. However, they would instead that we ignore all of it. But we won’t let ourselves forget! We cannot forget this!
Remember what they did to the courageous police officers?” she asked. The demonization was complete! Yes, they leave them there to die! However, they now identify as allies of the police. For some reason, my adversary has switched sides and is currently supporting law enforcement. For two years, she kept quiet while they endured verbal and physical abuse.
