Democrats are so wrapped up in their bubble that they won’t even realize they’re losing ground with a critical voter group in the 2022 midterm elections. Whenever given the opportunity, they will talk about how they are the party of women and the protectors of feminism. Despite the Democrats’ (unfairly) stellar job of marketing to women voters in recent weeks, half of them are casting ballots for the Republican Party. Guy dives further, but the Democratic Party has consistently won the support of women voters for a very long time. Regarding the generic ballot, they are not evenly divided. An indictment of the Left’s strategy for the midterm elections is the assumption that all women are entirely preoccupied with the topic of abortion. It turns out that women have always been more intelligent than most people on Capitol Hill; voters are more concerned about the state of the economy and the difficulty in paying bills or deciding which ones to pay (via the Washington Examiner) rather than abortion.
Remember that 2014 was the year of the crimson tsunami.
Although many of these women undoubtedly feel aggrieved by Dobb’s decision, no self-respecting American would ever choose to go without shelter or allow their children to go hungry. Some extremists have joined the bandwagon of those obsessed with abortion, arguing that the end of reproductive rights in the United States will spell the end of democracy. These disputes have a thousand shades of complexity but ultimately go nowhere, so there isn’t much room for them in the academic faculty lounge. It’s supposed to be that way; if professors could arrive at reasonable conclusions during these elitist circle flings, they’d be out of a job.
Issues like abortion will never be at the forefront of voters’ minds while the economy is in the toilet. The Democratic Party seems to have bought into the terrible idea that women are stupid and that the abortion bell would bring them home in droves like many livestock. Quite the opposite is accurate, and some liberals are concerned that their abortion-focused rhetoric in recent weeks has scared away Independent women. The Democratic Party may be in for a rough night in November as they may have lost the support of women voters.
