Megan Barry, a Democratic Mayor in Tennessee, has admitted to a rather EXPENSIVE affair with the head of her security detail — all paid for with taxpayer dollars.
The now disgraced Mayor issued an apology for her torrid love affair with Metro police Sgt. Robert Forrest Jr, admitting that nearly $33,000 of taxpayer bucks were used on travel expenses in nearly a year. Though Barry says that the money was used for official business, with trips such as Paris and Athens, and does not believe she misused the money, according to a report.
“I’m embarrassed, and I am sad, and I am so sorry for all the pain that I have caused my family and his family,” Barry said Wednesday. “I know that God will forgive me, but that Nashville doesn’t have to. … I hope that I can earn your trust back and that you will forgive me.”
She has not resigned and has not even mentioned it. In fact, she refuses to resign, according to another report. Though Forrest Jr has retired, no longer serving as an officer.
“I’ve had a very aggressive schedule, I’m out in the community, and that’s reflected with the overtime that has been billed to my detail,” Barry continued. “The police set the policy for the kind of detail coverage that a mayor gets, and I have been the recipient of that. I have taken trips that have included detail and those trips have always been for business.”
Let’s be honest, she should resign. And any liberal, democrat, or leftie who does not speak up about this is an absolutely FRAUD — and in case it’s not obvious I don’t expect them to, at least not en masse.
Things with the swamp sex scandals seemed to really come to a heel with the latest revelations coming out of the White House and the FISA MEMO RELEASE… still, she should resign ASAP.
