The DailyMail reported that Lake’s campaign is considering an “attack” after receiving two envelopes with “strange white powder” and “threatening notes” on Saturday evening. The FBI and police were at one of Lake’s campaign offices from 10:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m. on Sunday.
Based on the information in the report, Lake’s group has concluded that the incident was an act of terrorism designed to intimidate Kari and the campaign team.
One of Kari’s campaign staff members, according to the DailyMail, “opened mail bearing a weird white material and a letter full of obscenities and ravings about Kari.” The worker then reported seeing another parcel that matched the description of the one she had opened.
The FBI reportedly took numerous “suspect” artifacts out of the building for further investigation after a Hazmat and bomb squad conducted an inspection.
The Phoenix Police Department has reportedly confirmed the existence of suspicious items and promised an investigation, as reported by the DailyMail.
The current governor of Arizona, Jeff Flake, and Katie Hobbs are almost twins.
The Hobbs campaign headquarters were broken into last month. The Hobbs campaign afterwards indicated (without any proof) that Lake was involved in the crime. An illegal immigrant suspected of breaking into Hobbs’ campaign headquarters was apprehended due to the probe.
