Officials within the White House made sure to highlight quite a few grocery store and pharmacy chains that put forth offers to give out $20 vouchers for Americans that voluntarily go to get yet another dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Administration officials have taken to trying to encourage the American people to go get yet another booster shot prior to taking part in any form of holiday travel in the next few months. As part of an official statement, the White House claimed that Old Uncle Joe has tried to push more pharmacies to “double down” on their programs and efforts to raise the rate of vaccination, attempting to get the groups to send “tens of millions of texts, calls, and emails to customers, multimedia marketing campaigns,” as many federal pharmacy partners are starting to extend their hours and officially starting to accept walk-in vaccinations.

“Over 20 million Americans, including nearly one in five seniors, have already rolled up their sleeves to get their updated COVID-19 vaccine, and the President will encourage more Americans to do so right away,” the White House explained. “The President will get his updated COVID-19 vaccine, and call on everyone — including state, local, education, and business leaders — to do their part to protect themselves, their loved ones, and their communities.”

One grocery store chain that sports locations all over the more western half of the country, Albertsons, put forth a promotion to discount a grocery order by 10% for anyone who gets a vaccine in-store, with an upper-end cap on said benefits sitting at $20. In the same vein, CVS Health is also offering a coupon for $5 off any normal purchase of $20, but its competitor, Rite Aid, is slated to hand out coupons worth $5 for a purchase of $25 or more. Grocery chains across the southeast seem prepared to hand out $20 vouchers once a person gets their COVID vaccine and booster at the same time.

“They are working with employers, schools, nursing homes and other community organizations to meet people where they are and advance vaccine equity,” stated the White House. “These steps will ensure Americans can get the protection they need heading into the winter at trusted, convenient locations.”

Pressing further than a few companies attempting to hand out coupons and discounts, Walgreens is slated to spend multiple millions in order to “encourage vaccinations across Black and Hispanic communities,” while both Sam’s Club and Walmart are planning to put a reminder on repeat across the store intercoms three or four times an hour in an effort to convince people to get their vaccines.
