A New Jersey man was stopped trying to enter St Patrick’s Cathedral, the most iconic Catholic Church in NYC and possibly the entire country. He was stopped by church security before he could enter the church.

He told police that he had run out of gas and he was trying to cut through the church to get to Madison Avenue. Police checked out the man’s car, which was not out of gas and at that time they arrested  Marc Pamparello. Police have not ruled out possible terrorism. Ya think?

Police say the man was mentally unstable, indicating he is a member of the Democratic party.

New York police arrested a New Jersey man on Wednesday night trying to enter St. Patrick’s Catholic Cathedral with two gasoline cans.

The man was identified as Marc Pamparello from New Jersey.

St. Patrick’s Cathedral is located on Fifth Avenue between 50th and 51st Streets across the street from Rockefeller Center in one of the busiest areas of Manhattan.

The 37-year-old man from New Jersey, identified by law enforcement sources as Marc Lamparello, walked up to the cathedral in Midtown with at least two plastic gas canisters around 8 p.m. Wednesday, the NYPD and a senior police official said.

Security stopped the man near the cathedral’s entrance before he could go inside, according to two senior police officials.

The suspect’s story to police? “His basic story was that he was cutting through the cathedral to get to Madison Avenue – that his car had ran out of gas.”

But police then looked at the suspect’s vehicle. “It was not out of gas. At that point, he was taken into custody.”
