President Joe Biden took the time to personally issue thanks to a Coast Guardsman for rescuing and saving the life of a 94-year-old woman in the wake of Hurricane Ian, but as of writing, the person labeled hero is slated to be fired in the next few days for refusing to get the COVID vaccine.
Aviation Survival Technician Second Class Zach Loesch managed to warrant such praise via a Friday phone call from Old Uncle Joe for breaking through a wall in order to rescue a trapped, wheelchair-bound woman and her husband. The guardsman lifted the woman up in her wheelchair to a waiting helicopter, as reported by Breitbart, which carried out an interview with him.
“I told him how proud of him I was and thanked him for all the work he and his Coasties are doing to save lives,” stated Biden via a White House press release which issued thanks to Lieutenant Commander Christopher Hooper and Loesch “for the heroic work that they and their Coast Guard colleagues have performed during search and rescue operations in response to Hurricane Ian.”

Biden stated that Hooper’s team was also able to rescue a small one-month-old baby. It was not entirely clear exactly where the rescues took place.
However, the very next correspondence heard from a federal official that Loesch experiences could be to find out his entire career is over. Loesch told the news outlet that he had put in a request for a religious exemption to avoid being administered the COVID vaccine but does not think it will end up being honored.
“If I had asked any of the people I saved yesterday if they wanted to come with me even though I am unvaccinated, every single one of them would have said ‘yes,’” he stated.
Loesch stated that he did not make mention of his vaccination status or anticipated dismissal while on the call with the President, stating it would not have been very appropriate.
“It just sucks that he thanked me yet the vaccine mandate is what’s kicking me out,” he stated. “I just love my job and I’m really good at it. It sucks. I feel like this is the job that I was born to do.”
As of this past Saturday evening, the various members of the Coast Guard had carried out rescues for or aided over 442 people and 89 pets throughout South Carolina and Florida.
