Jamie Raskin, a Democrat congressman from Maryland, has chosen to stand in defense of Old Uncle Joe’s recent statements while on a Sunday segment of CBS’ “Face the Nation,” making the claim that failure to go along with the results of a free and fair election was just one of the many “hallmarks” of an entirely fascist party.
Biden was the target of much criticism earlier this past week — due to his assertation that many Republicans had turned to “semi-fascism” and that the so-called “MAGA Republicans” were an outright threat to American democracy — as many critics made the argument that the president who had made it a point to campaign on promises of uniting the country was now taking as many steps as he could to divide America even further. Raskin chose to double down on the comments from Biden.

Jamie Raskin on CBS: "Two of the hallmarks of a fascist political party are, one, they don't accept the results of elections that don't go their way, and two, they embrace political violence. And I think that's why President Biden was right to sound the alarm this week." pic.twitter.com/9S13L7ZG3D

Raskin, while issuing a response to repeated claims from former President Donald Trump that the 2020 election was fraudulent, argued primarily that every avenue attempted by the attorneys for Trump had been a failure.
“Two of the hallmarks of a fascist political party are, one, they don’t accept the results of elections that don’t go their way, and two, they embrace political violence. And I think that’s why President Biden was right to sound the alarm this week, ” he stated.
However, Raskin has not always been quite so down to just accept and roll with the official results of elections in his own right. Back in January of 2017, when it was time for Congress to officially certify the finalized results of the 2016 election, Raskin was a vocal member of the camp that stood against the votes that were cast by electors from the state of Florida and stated that they should be counted.

At the time, then Vice President Joe Biden spoke out to denounce and strike down the motion, claiming, “Please come to order. The objection cannot be received.” Raskin ignored the extreme criticism of his objections by stating that in 2017, no one had stormed the capital.
Raskin also stood against the presidential election results back in 2000, claiming via a recently dredged back up video brought to light by the Republican National Committee that former President George W. Bush had just been appointed president by the sitting Supreme Court instead of rightfully elected by the American public.
Incredible work by the RNC to find a 2003 (!) clip of Jamie Raskin saying that the 2000 presidential election was stolen. https://t.co/r7hXAj6KVl pic.twitter.com/0uo57szWWM

However, Raskin was not alone. Hillary Clinton, the former Secretary of State and failed presidential candidate herself, made the claim that the election of 2016 was “stolen” from her. Old Uncle Joe, after one audience member at a rally, made reference to Trump as being an “illegitimate president,” seemingly jokingly requested the person to be his next CP candidate.
