The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has confirmed that there are MS-13 gang members and other assorted criminals traveling north with the Honduran caravan. DHS head, Kirstjen Nielsen said Sunday that the agency is focused on rooting out potential criminal gang members who have infiltrated the caravan.
In any massive caravan such as this, drug cartel members, MS-13 gang members and people with significant criminal histories, find it easy to blend in. There is also a significant threat that the caravan members could get violent if they are denied entry into the United States.
Terrorists could also embed themselves and there is growing evidence that people from violent countries in the Middle East and Africa are also using the caravan to gain entrance into the United States.
.@DHSgov can confirm that there are individuals within the caravan who are gang members or have significant criminal histories.

Kirstjen Nielsen said:
“While we closely monitor the caravan crisis, we must remain mindful of the transnational criminal organizations and other criminals that prey on the vulnerabilities of those undertaking the irregular migration journey.”
“We shall work with our partners in the region to investigate and prosecute to the fullest extent of the law all who seek to encourage and profit from irregular migration. We fully support the efforts of Guatemala, Honduras and Mexico, as they seek to address this critical situation and ensure a safer and more secure region.”
This is just one more reason that President Trump must not allow the caravan to enter the United States. We need to heavily regulate those people who want to come to our country, especially the criminal activities of the caravan. Invading the United States is clearly a criminal activity unto itself.
